BIOGRAPHY

Saxophonist/Arranger Antoine Gibson began his musical journey in 2004. Antoine graduated from FAMU in May of 2015. He currently lives in Atlanta working as a professional musician, arranger, and educator. His debut studio album titled "Tales From The Eastside" released in 2022.

In January of 2010, he, along with three high school friends, formed the band TraVerse. For two years, TraVerse changed the Metro Atlanta music scene by adding a new flavor of jazz fusion. Their unique style, a mix of jazz, hip-hop, and r&b, attracted crowds and interests alike of all ages as it appeals to a multitude of musical tastes. TraVerse's resume includes performances as small as school honor day ceremonies and private birthday parties to as large as the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta, a televised Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration, and The annual Sweet Auburn Festival - just to name a few.

Post graduation from Stephenson High School in 2011, Antoine continued his education at the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, studying music. There in Tallahassee, he became active in FAMU's Marching 100, university jazz band, wind symphony, and a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. while playing at New Mount Zion A.M.E. Church and many other local venues. In college, Antoine was blessed to open up for acts such as Rick Ross and Kim Waters as well as sharing the stage with Bobby Brown, American Idol's Taylor Hicks, After 7 and many others.

While in school, he had the opportunity to participate in the VH1 movie “Drumline 2: A New Beat” which lead to a minor acting role in the BET show, “The Quad", where he also arranged and recorded music for the series. His musical journey also boasts features in several other movies and TV shows, including the Disney film "Dashing Through The Snow”, “Coming 2 America” alongside afro-beat artist Davido, and Tyler Perry's “A Jazzman’s Blues”.

Between 2021 and 2022, Antoine released three singles titled “Eastside,” “Mellitus,” and “Mutali,” from his debut album “Tales from the Eastside,” an album that pays homage to his hometown and life experiences. His 2024 release I-20 East became the first radio single to chart on the Smooth Jazz charts.

In addition to his success in music, Antoine is a dedicated advocate for the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. Having lived with T1D for over 20 years, he has used his platform to raise awareness, advocate for health equity, and support others navigating life with this condition. Since 2021 he has worked with Tandem Diabetes as an ambassador working with T1D kids all around the country. In 2023, he joined Breakthrough T1D and youth delegates across the U.S. on Capitol Hill to raise awareness and advocate for the renewal of the Special Diabetes Program at Children’s Congress. That same year, Antoine took his advocacy global by traveling to Tanzania to provide diabetes education and resources to underserved communities.

He also founded the non-profit Mutali Diabetes, blending entertainment with advocacy to empower those in the T1D community. In August 2025, the nonprofit held its first event, being the inaugural smooth jazz benefit concert which featured a health fair with free comprehensive health screenings for all in attendance.

With a second studio album on the way and a strong commitment to making a difference, Antoine is an inspiring example of resilience, creativity, and advocacy.
